Philip Hurst here to talk about one of the Best WebCams I have ever reviewed! I’m talking about the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910. One of the features this camera is most famous for would be it’s ability to record video in 1080p. Most webcams on the marketing today record at a maximum of 720p so I figured I’d get one to see what it can do.
The first bonus that puts this guy on my best webcams list, has nothing to do with the video at all. I’m talking about the dual stereo microphones. Prominent in the camera’s design, the dual mics take the far left and right real estate of the visible parts of the camera. This is big time for me as until now I’ve been using the Flip camera. My biggest complaint with it was the fact that the sound recorded nearly monotone. I don’t know if this was because of my personal unit but it drove me insane! The Logitech’s sound has a slight ting to it but not noticeable by anyone outside of the sound industry and the stereo is noticeable and awesome.
Mounting this camera is a cinch with the two hinge mounting system. You can hook the camera to the top edge of your computer monitor or laptop screen and the hinge will allow you to adjust the angle. The inside of the hinge has rubber so it doesn’t slide after mounting. You can also move the hinges in a way that will allow it to stand solo on a desktop.

Another point that makes this one of the best webcams would be the ability to choose your resolution capture. You can choose every popular resolution between 360p to 1080p. The frames per second doesn’t change with the resolution which might be a turn off for most people but I didn’t really notice a difference. You also have total control when selection your exposure, balance, contrast etc… not to mention you can also pan, tilt, and the camera will use a physical zoom. Most digital cameras use a digital zoom causing it to pixelate super fast, but the physical zoom makes the Best WebCams list from this feature alone! I also like the follow option. It recognizes facial structure and will pan and tilt to follow you around the room. Awesome!
Immediately after plugging in the webcam, it asked if I want to download the current drivers from the internet. This is great for keeping the camera up to date with the latest driver options. For you Youtube Vloggers this camera comes with a one click upload option for both Youtube and Facebook. It can also take 10 Megapixel still shots. There are two blue LED lights that turn on when the camera is recording. They look like a blue set of parentheses between the camera lens and the mics. You can choose to shut these off if you want.
Now, even though this camera is on my Best WeCams list, no hero is complete without it’s kryptonite. My first complaint is the time it takes to compress video. This mainly comes from how much information is gathered recording in 1080p. However, if you are streaming live you don’t have to worry about this. Sorry video editors! The second concern I noticed is this camera has difficulty focusing past 6ft. You can literally record perfect video within an inch of the lens but it stops trying to focus past 6 ft. Bad for independent film makers great for Vloggers!
I think you understand now why this is one of the coolest video camera’s on the market today and why this one in particular has made my best webcams list!

When you are starting out as an internet vlogger finding the best webcam on the market could be super expensive. I decided to look into it because I made the decision to do just that. In my pursuit to finding the best webcam I received some advice from a friend. He said “Pete, (Peter Abbott) until you’ve established yourself as a high traffic internet vlogger look for high quality but inexpensive camera.” So I asked him how inexpensive can you get before you sacrifice quality? He said look for something just under 100 bucks.
So I looked through a bunch of camera’s and nothing really caught my eye. The next day my buddy called me back and said that he found the camera. He recommended the Microsoft LifeCam Cinema 720p HD Webcam. So I bought it.
The camera came and I was surprised to see how tiny it is. It’s only about and inch or inch and a half. The lens was so small I was convinced that it wasn’t going to be able to take awesome picture quality. I plugged it into my desktop computer. It began to download the proper drivers from the internet and some video software to help me organize my videos. It had some really fun features also, like a cowboy hat, a cyborg face mask, and even an afro. It followed my head extremely well even when turning my head. These don’t really play into whether or not I consider it to be the best webcam and I don’t think I’ll use those features too much during my vlog but they’re still fun to play with.

So, the camera records in 720p and 30 frames per second. For it’s price range, it’s the best webcam because it really performs in low light conditions. I didn’t like the fact that it auto focuses about every ten seconds or so. It wouldn’t be so bad but it blurs out the whole picture before settling in, and it does it any time you move. I fixed it by going into the software and turning off the auto focus. While I was in there I started playing with the saturation, contrast, and brightness. I was able to get the picture to look the exactly way that I wanted and it was clear, bright, and focused.
I used it for video conferencing with Skype and it worked without a hitch. The stand is really malleable in the same way a pipe cleaner is. You can bend it straight down for a laptop screen, or nearly flat to fit on the old school computer monitors. I read from experienced vloggers that you should always use a separate microphone when vlogging but this one seems to hold up for what I need to do. I’m glad I didn’t try to go out and find the best webcam because that would have cost several hundred dollars where as this one is awesome and it was under a hundred.
I tried it on my Macbook pro and it seemed to work slower and not as reliable, but that’s okay, I wasn’t planning on using it for my Macbook and it already has a pretty decent camera anyway. So in my opinion, for it’s price range it really is the best webcam.

Finding the best webcam can be a daunting task especially if you are from the older generation. My name is Gerald Blackburn and I needed to find a webcam to be able to Skype over the internet with my kids and grandkids. My kids have been incessantly asking me to get one even before I knew what Skype was. So I went to the electronic store and asked them for what was the best webcam for my situation. They told me about the Creative Live Cam Socialize HD AF. I asked them if this was the best price available and the sales representative told me to search the internet.
So I went online and found it. I started reading the reviews and it seemed like a reasonable price and it really seemed to be the best webcam for my situation.
Every review I read explained that it had a noise cancellation microphone which would be good because our television and our computer are in the same room. One of the selling points was that this Webcamera uses a USB cord and we have several USB outlets on our computer. It was really was really easy to install. I simply plugged in the USB cord and turned on the computer. There weren’t any drivers to install and we could start right away. My second oldest was with us and he downloaded Skype for us and we started talking over the video to my son and his family in New Mexico. Another feature that made this the best webcam for our situation was the auto focus, I don’t know much about lighting options and how to mix the colors but my son was disappointed that it didn’t work so well in low light conditions.

I brought in a lamp and he said it looked better. I couldn’t see the difference it all looks the same to me. He said this camera was great for mobile streaming, and that it recorded at 30 frames per second. He also explained that if we wanted to take pictures with it all we had to do was to press the button on the top.
I looked at the box and it said it was Skype Certified. We had lots of fun being able to see and talk with the grandkids over the internet. Last time we went to visit the grandkids they were cautious around us. This was the best webcam for us and the next time we went to visit the grandkids they immediately recognized and interacted with us.
There is a single hinge lever in the back so we can easily fit it on our computer screen. My son recommended to leave it on there all the time but my wife keeps removing it when she dusts, so I need to adjust it every time.
So if you are like us just remember to use good light, press the button to take pictures, and plug it into the USB drive. We don’t need a lot of features so this really was the best webcam for us.
